A tu alrededor puedes observar un sin número de objetos que se mueven. Muchos de ellos lo hacen de forma tal que van y bien repitiendo siempre el mismo derrotero. A estos movimientos los llamaremos periódicos y de ellos estudiaremos algunos casos emblemáticos.
El péndulo es un artefacto muy simple: una masa unida a un cordón y el otro extremo de este unido a punto fijo.
Este dispositivo simple se ha ganado un lugar en la historia de la humanidad gracias a una simple propiedad: el movimiento de vaivén se repite siempre en igual lapso de tiempo, lo que lo hace un dispositivo ideal para justamente medir el tiempo. Este lapso característico se lo llama período y, como veremos mas adelante resulta una variable fundamental en la descripción en la descripción de estos movimientos.
En el video se ve el movimiento del, quizás mas famosos péndulo de la historia, el experimento conocido como “Péndulo de Foucault” que constituyo la primera evidencia local de la rotación de la tierra.
Te proponemos que a partir del video medir el periodo de oscilación del dispositivo que aparece ene el mismo.
